Paris Couture shows- the recession hurts

The Spring 2009 couture shows ran last week in Paris. Among the designers that showed were Chanel, Armani Prive, Dior, Valentino, Lacroix, Givenchy, Elie Saab, Gaultier, Anne Valerie Hash, and Alexis Mabille.

Apparent trends were: Off the shoulder clothing, Floral embellishments, Black and White, a play on the suit and rich bold red.

It was interesting to see all of the couture designs to be very played down this season. Couture shows are usually so over the top. But it looks like the recession might be hitting top designers as well....

  1. mmm..red. So exciting. Thanks Lady D for the invite...I've been deprived of culture for too long. Let me call myself a culturista in training for now. xoxo
